The JCSD is currently seeking applicants for a long-term substitute Secondary School Counselor position for the remainder of the school year.

Due to forecasted inclement weather on Monday, January 6th, the Jeannette City School District will be closed for in-person instruction. The district will be utilizing a flexible instructional day for remote learning.

Last evening, at a special meeting Board of Directors, Ms. Ashley Good was named Principal of McKee Elementary School. We are excited to welcome Ms. Good into her new role and look forward to the leadership she will bring to the students, families, and staff of McKee Elementary.

On Monday, Ms. Jessica McClain was officially appointed as the Assistant Principal of McKee Elementary School. A proud Jeannette graduate, Ms. McClain has dedicated her entire career to educating and supporting students at McKee Elementary. Congratulations Ms. McClain!

A big thank you to McKee Elementary Ms. Good & Instructional Coach Mrs. Reich for their outstanding presentation during New Teacher Orientation. The time was filled with practical tips, personal insights, and best practices drawn from years of experience and training.

Superintendent Shout Out! Our very first recognition of the school year goes to the incredible Kindergarten Team—the heart of our school and the place where it all begins. Thank you for filling our youngest learners’ days with kindness, joy, and a love for learning.

Today, we are proud to share that Mrs. White, our JHS School Principal, presented at the Education Convention on the campus of Saint Vincent College. This event brought education majors together to explore important topics such as growth mindset and resiliency.

Thank you to Dave Smith for donating a commemorative football & newspaper articles from the 1956 WPIAL Championship to the JCSD. These keepsakes were saved by his uncle, Jim Burzio, who proudly played on the team and kicked the winning field goal, capturing this historic moment.

Congratulations to the JHS Interact Club for being named the 2024–2025 Interact Club of the Year! Out of more than 60 clubs in our district Jeannette High School took the top spot! We are proud of our students for their leadership, service & dedication to making a difference.
