We've been hosting a visiting researcher this week! Dr. Anne Kort from the University of Michigan has been studying a nearly complete fossil dog skeleton we've had in collections since the early 1990s. Dr. Kort is a former intern, and we're glad to have her back. #FossilFriday

It's a Quail on a mail...box! California Quail don't need to drink water most of the time. They get most of their moisture from insects and succulent vegetation.

The Blue Basin Trailhead, just 5 minutes from the visitor center hosts the not to be missed 1.3-mile Island In Time trail. It's cooling off here and we are expecting rain, which means the colors are going to POP and deepen. 🥾😃📸

Q: "When is the best time of day to see the hills?" A: The golden hour before sunset can be great, but with dynamic weather conditions you can usually get some amazing views as the clouds and sun changes!
