I joined Sen. Bernie Sanders and Senator Peter Welch to introduce Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block the sales of offensive weapons used in Gaza by Netanyahu’s government. Gaza is suffering a cascading humanitarian disaster. The U.S. is complicit. No bombs. More aid.

It is appalling that Cornell University appears ready to deport an international student without regard for due process, simply because of their presence at a protest. It is wrong, and I urge the university to reverse course immediately.

As violence spreads throughout Lebanon, Israel, Syria, Iran and Palestine, my heart goes out to all of my constituents whose family and loved ones are suffering. All of us should be able to live in peace and safety.

I confess I’ve always been a fan of Jon Stewart since middle school. He embodies the kind of curious and empathetic NYC cosmopolitanism that I aspire to. And as an interviewer, he’s far more thoughtful than that CBS guy. This is worth watching.

I also think a key factor is that people want a show. Trump gives them that (in an eccentric fascist way). That is, to an extent, something Dems can learn from. Populism has appeal. It can be used for good or, in the case of Trump, evil.

Oh shit...

There are lots of valid points about policy, messaging, the Democratic brand, etc. But there's also the fact that individuals' politics are often idiosyncratic, chaotic, and incoherent.
