JUST IN: 3 pro-democracy campaigners, Robson Chere, Namatai Kwekweza🇿🇼 Councilor Samuel Gwenzi, who were tortured after being seized from a plane in Harare in July 2024 before being prosecuted on charges of disorderly conduct, have been acquitted.


Although we celebrate the release of SG Robson Chere etal, we are deeply concerned with the continued incarceration of Phillips Pikitai etal. Tmmrw 21 August @ 2.15pmthe magistrate will sentence the trio. We demand the judiciary to do the right thing.


🟠⚪This is Robson Chere, a teacher, a father and the Secretary General at Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe,ARTUZ Today, the Magistrate found him NOT GUILTY. He was TORTURED, in 2024, wrongfully arrested, and made to suffer a long and exhausting trial. But. The Police must be held to account.
