Everyone deserves to experience math as creativity, play, exploration, joy, etc.—not just a utilitarian tool!—if they want to. I'm always trying to facilitate those joyful experiences for my students, regardless of their background or prior knowledge.

For the first time in over a year, I am actually ending the week more energized about my place in academia than I was when I started. While there's still a long way to go in a lot of ways, it really feels like I'm turning the corner and things are looking up.

Periodically when writing I'll find myself recurrently writing a particular word in an odd way. Today's example: I've written "defining" as "definining" three times.

That's a wrap for Week 2! 🎉 The campers began collaborating on their game design docs, and learned to create their own art and audio assets 👾🎨 We can't wait to see how they combine all these concepts into a working game next week 👀🎮

The last three weeks have been an amazing time working for Girls Make Games's summer camp, and today it culminated with the campers showing off their games that the campers all made. They showed off their creativity in so many different ways!
