Interesting exchange at Health and Social Care Committee this morning. Both are right. First both acknowledge the pressure Emergency Departments are under.


UK Health Security Agency Blog suggests the only IPC intervention is hand hygiene. If staff hand hygiene in hospitals is regularly reported as being >90% compliant, might there be another mode of spread to consider? Should airborne precautions be routine? Or is the hand hygiene data rubbish? Or both?
