I think preventing this ballot nonsense is fairly easy. Allow ALL registered political parties to place a name on a ballot. IF multiple “independents” submit nomination papers, those 5 (or 10) with the most signatures are added to the ballot. It keeps things “democratic”.

I’ve got to say, the welcome showed to Putin indicates he is by no means viewed as a global adversary by this US administration. That’s naive (at best). Canada (and Carney) need to align itself with Western Europe in both trade and defence, for (at least!) the next 3 years. Wild

Often Canadian heroes wear skates. Excel at a game that is a nations passion. Other heroes serve the public good, strive to deliver a better Canada to all of our citizens. Ken Dryden was the rare person who did it all. Hockey Hall of Famer, parliamentarian, and great human.

Please don’t get into an argument about whether it was an assassination. Thousands of targets, 1 person hit with, by accounts so far, 1 shot. He was the target. We must not devolve into a society where violence is a solution. Our issues should be decided at the ballot box.

Thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mr Kirk. Political violence weakens democracy. Regardless of our views, we must always debate peacefully, as all of us strive to improve our respective country and community.

Ontario Liberals need to find a path distinctive from the NDP. We must be worker friendly and attract business investment. We can’t be “NDP lite”, and I definitely don’t think we need to outflank them on the left. We need serious solutions to serious problems right now.

I think through all the noise, a LOT of people are missing the main point. Whether Kimmel should be taken off the air, or not, isn’t the point. It’s whether the government should be able to use the levers of power to affect a result. (It shouldn’t)

If this number is accurate and holds, it’s unlikely the Dems win back the House.

Someone in Congress needs to sponsor a bill to repeal the Hatch Act. It’s clearly not going to be enforced, so just scrap the damn thing at this point.

I miss the days when the United States was governed by adults, even the ones I disagreed vehemently with on policy.
