Yes, Proverbs 11:10 says people rejoice when the wicked perish. Thatโ€™s a description of the relief people may feel when oppression ends, but not a command for how we as believers should respond. The Bible includes both descriptive and prescriptive texts, and this is the former.

As Christians, our response to the news of someoneโ€™s passing ought to be different. Iโ€™d say we are duty bound to respond with compassion when an unsaved person dies without receiving Christ because that is the proverbial thing one wouldnโ€™t wish their worst enemy
