Grateful and impressed by the hard work and vision of Governor Jared Polis DORA Colorado Connect for Health Colorado HHS.gov and Treasury Department to get this across the finish line. A model for the nation in bending the cost curve and deploying the savings to expand coverage. Cc: Heather Howard Dan Meuse

The E&C committee is holding an oversight hearing on Medicare Advantage today. This is great to see. MA serves nearly 50% of beneficiaries and is growing rapidly. Oversight and reforms are needed to ensure plans are providing value to beneficiaries and to taxpayers. Here's why:

In their new Forefront article, Jason A. Levitis + Sabrina Corlette of Urban Institute + Center on Health Insurance Reforms argue that delaying legislation to extend the premium tax credit expansions from ARPA past Aug 2022 would likely deny many people the benefits of an extension. bit.ly/3NmtHqM

To avoid significant marketplace premium increases and coverage losses, Congress must act to extend ARPA’s premium tax credit subsidies by August. Read more from Sabrina Corlette and Jason A. Levitis for Health Affairs: healthaffairs.org/do/10.1377/for…

Congress needs to act now to extend the American Rescue Plan’s health insurance subsidies or many consumers will see unaffordable premium increases and drop coverage. More from Sabrina Corlette and Jason A. Levitis in Health Affairs healthaffairs.org/do/10.1377/for…

Meanwhile, the clock on getting this done is VERY much ticking, as Sabrina Corlette & Jason A. Levitis wrote about in Health Affairs yesterday. Every day #ARP subsidies AREN'T extended means more confusion & more people losing coverage/seeing rate hikes: 14/ healthaffairs.org/do/10.1377/for…

This could also be a great gig for my friends in #HealthTwitter. OTA also does some of the most consequential health policy modeling, like for 1332 waivers. And they have data that no one else does, like 1095s and 1040-reported income.

Good advice⬇️. And there's a 2nd rule to be aware of: being eligible for COBRA never blocks former employees from getting Obamacare financial assistance. So if you lose a job, go to the Marketplace first and check your options.

Important story from @NancyCordes on IRS layoffs. A few additions: Last year IRS sent over 120 million refunds. There is a major risk Americans’ refunds could be late or wrong when you indiscriminately fire thousands of employees in the middle of the filing season. 1/5

There's a clear error in the Intuit TurboTax Intuit TurboTax Support Q&A on HSAs and HDHPs. Many complaints on the support page going back years. Still broken. In short, it says you have a gap in HDHP coverage when you don't. Can bypass by answering incorrectly. But not sure why TT doesn't fix.
