Congratulations Amy Hinsley on winning a Schmidt AI in Science Fellowship with Oxford Biology! Amy is a fantastic wildlife trade researcher, a super supportive PhD supervisor, and thoroughly deserving of this achievement 🎉 biology.ox.ac.uk/article/three-…

Raced back to Oxford for a talk by Lucy Cooke. Her book, Bitch, is a must read for any biologist so we continually challenge the biases that we bring to our research. Had a tiny fan girl moment when she signed my copy!

This morning I presented the results of my first PhD chapter at ECCB 2024 Bologna. Thanks to everyone who attended 👏🏼

Had such a great time at ECCB 2024 Bologna with my lovely friends and colleagues at WildCRU, Oxford learning all things #conservation #biology 👏🏼

Thanks to GOV.UK, my postal vote did not arrive on time so I can’t vote today, but inspired by We Deserve Better (We Deserve Better), I encourage everyone to #vote The Green Party or independent 🥳

Very happy to be visiting Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research at the University of Ghana again. This time I’m conducting my PhD fieldwork with Hannah Sackey & our research assistant, Pearl. Already can’t wait for the results 🎉

A new paper led by Sifan Hu evaluates messaging that aims to reduce the use of animal-based medicinal products in China. Results from the randomised control trials show that health-related messages were the most effective. See bit.ly/3AjZ3gY Amy Hinsley

Just got my ticket for the ConservationOptimism Summit this year! Looking forward to attending the wildlife trade-related talks 🌿 Be sure to check out the discounted tickets for students & anyone who wants to attend but can't afford to

Spent the last two days at the UKRI GCRF TRADE Hub closing event. Amazing to see what’s been achieved in the last 5 years & think about other trade systems as well as wild meat 👏🏼

“Wildlife crime contributes to biodiversity loss, placing additional pressure on species already vulnerable due to factors such as habitat loss and climate change" diogoverissimo.bsky.social shares in response to the seizing of 6,000 illegal wild bird eggs. theguardian.com/environment/20…

This week I passed my confirmation of status! 🥳 Thanks to Amy Dickman 🦁 @amydickman.bsky.social & diogoverissimo.bsky.social for being great assessors. Brilliant way to start the new year 🎉
