Sick of seeing headlines saying schools are ‘shut down’ or ‘closed’. THEY ARE NOT! I’m teaching. My students are engaged and learning. I miss my kids more than anything & I want them to know that MY CLASSROOM IS OPEN! I’ll continue to be here for them...just in a different way.

Thanks Shannon Flynn for the challenge. I’m at JHS getting in my brisk walk and ready to distribute caps and gowns to the Seniors. Therefore, I nominate all JHS Seniors to become a member of the #6AMCrew between now and your last day of high school. Johnsburg School District 12 Coach_Lesniak

Happy 244th Independence Day!! Before America’s 245th birthday, I hope we come together to fight injustice, racism, and bigotry so that Jefferson’s words in the Declaration of Independence “that all men are created equal” rings true for generations to come.

As we remember the 2,977 lives lost on that fateful day 19 years ago, it also serves as a reminder that Americans can overcome anything if we work together and are united for the common good.

I’m gutted that my students cannot join me for my Quadrennial Election Night Returns Party at school, but this will have to do. Happy Returns!!!!!

“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude.” - President Harry Truman. Thank you to the veterans who have preserved our Republic, and those that will continue to do so.

"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America...America was targeted because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining." Never Forget.

As an enormous nerd on Election Night, nothing makes me happier than watching Steve Kornacki. I wish I could be friends with him.

One of the best things about living in DC is how close other cities are via Amtrak. With Michelle working in New York this week, I rode the train up (only costing $38 round trip) and took in some Broadway Shows, and of course some nerdy history stuff

23 years ago, our world changed. That horrible day bought our country together in unity. My hope is that one day, we can come together again in that unity. Not because of a tragic event, but because we realize that there are more things that bond us together than tears us apart.
