That’s a wrap for me for cotton 2019πŸ˜† Late block double cropped after chickpeas. Watered up 10th December. Not much cotton in at StG this season but very fortunate that there was enough water to get it home. Far less fortunate at Dirran where essentially no crop was planted.

Irrigated MR Taurus, first crop harvested ~26-1-19, then slashed/mulched and watered around 5-2-19. A further 2 in-crop waterings plus ~150 kg N/Ha, and ratoon crop chopped for silage 14-6-19.

Irrigated Buster. First crop harvested ~22-1-19, not slashed and ratoon crop watered ~28-1-19, plus~150 kg N/Ha. Two further irrigations, and 3rd picture taken today. Will go to grain. If considering growing ratoon grain sorghum, I much prefer it to be slashed before restarting.

Dry as chips and not a lot happening, but there are a few pin pricks of green. No in-crop rain. Long, long fallow. Reliant on the left, still has some potential, and Mustang on the right. Satamap SVI - (low) - image -16-8-19 Need a rain!

Installed a Hidden Fence yesterday to keep our loyal but very social hound at home. After ~30 minutes of training yesterday afternoon, today has been a success. Off the chain all day, and hasn’t strayed. Don’t think she is as thrilled.

Balonne River, Andrew Nixon Bridge, Jack Taylor Weir, St George, forecast to peak this morning around 12.3m. It’s a great sight😊

This is the first major flood in the Balonne River in Southern #Queensland in 8 years, and what a sight it is. It's so good for the region to finally get some water flowing through it again.

Last of the late plant mungbeans were harvested yesterday, fingers crossed the dryland chickpeas get a drink this weekend, and some of the earlier planted irrigated Nasma faba bean crops are in full bloom, and podding up nicely. Its enough to get my pulse racing!πŸ˜€
