We kicked off year 19 of Shark River sampling in style within Everglades National Park The #RehageLab tagged 3 Common Snook and 4 Largemouth Bass for acoustic telemetry tracking as part of the FACT_Network Shoutout to @mackwhite1994 for the hats!

We had a great time visiting our collaborators in the @jnelsonPhD lab at University of Louisiana at Lafayette We delivered a ton of samples for the FCE LTER Food Webs project. Can’t wait to get 3 years worth of stable isotope data back! Thanks for hosting us, sharing king cake, and a fun Cajun Friday!

Had a great time with Physalia-courses@ONLINE taking the Version Control for Researchers course (r-rse-git-github-zero2hero.netlify.app). Learned a ton about GitHub & GitKraken version control! Shoutout to @LaurenKOlinger for being a great partner for the group exercises

Saw this gem of a sticker on a door at Rosenstiel School today. Crazy to think that my undergrad research with Wrigley Institute for Environment & Sustainability has lead to a PhD with FIU Institute of Environment and collaborations with UM. I hope everything is well on Catalina and no one makes any unexpected trips to USC Catalina Chamber

It was awesome to have our U.S. National Science Foundation REU Dakota out in the field on day 1 of his 10 week summer program with FIU College of Arts, Sciences & Education It seems like just yesterday I was doing my own REU with Wrigley Institute for Environment & Sustainability and now I’m a near peer mentor! Looking forward to a great summer!

During our most recent sampling of Everglades National Park the MAP team caught an Asian Swamp Eel (monopterus albus) for only the 3rd ever. This non-native species is already wreaking havoc in marsh food webs and we could be seeing range expansions further into Shark River Slough

Just me + the poster that endured 5 countries & 2 conferences in the past couple of weeks! Can’t wait for icft2023 to talk about #snook movement responses during hurricanes….but until then you can find us at the beach! Big thanks to FIU College of Arts, Sciences & Education U.S. National Science Foundation CREST CAChE & other funders 🙏

2 conferences 5 countries 🇮🇹🇫🇷 8 airports ✈️ 22 days abroad 🍝🍮🏖️ 67 pages of notes 📝 124 scientific talks 👩🔬🧑🏻🔬👨🏾🔬 Countless memories and friends! Thank you to all my funders, colleagues, and conferences hosts that made this trip possible! icft2023 #GRC FIU College of Arts, Sciences & Education CREST CAChE

What an awesome presentation from Dakota Rygh our U.S. National Science Foundation & FIU College of Arts, Sciences & Education REU! He really immersed himself in field and lab work this summer and produced some awesome diet analyses on research and bluegill sunfish species! We’re going to miss him but expect big things in the future!
