Without the United Nations, hundreds of millions of children worldwide would have grown up without an education. Without education, we cannot unlock growth and prosperity. The UK is proud to be a leading donor to UNICEF, Education Cannot Wait, UNRWA and others on this #EducationDay.π


Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated 80 years ago today. Shortly after, the United Nations was founded to prevent such evil from recurring. Today we remember those who tragically lost their lives in the Holocaust.Β And renew our commitment to stand against all forms of hatred. Never again.

This United Nations CSW celebrated 30 years since the Beijing Declaration β a landmark agreement for gender equality. But from Afghanistan to Sudan and Gaza, women and girls' rights are under threat. The UK will always stand up for all women and girls.


The UK is concerned by horrific reports from Darfur of RSF attacks killing civilians, including aid workers. Ahead of Tuesday's Sudan conference in London, on the two-year anniversary of the Sudan conflict, the UK has called for an urgent United Nations Security Council meeting.



Pleased to meet American Jewish Committee for constructive discussion on promoting Middle East peace. Β The UK was horrified byΒ Oct 7Β attacks. A return to ceasefire is how we bring hostages home, stop the bloodshed, and move towards a secure two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians.



One month on from the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, millions of people remain in desperate need of humanitarian aid. UN Humanitarian are working around the clock, providing lifesaving assistance to those in need. All parties must protect civilians and aid workers.


Deforestation causes the loss of the equivalent of 14 million football pitches of forest every year. The UK is driving progress to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030. At the 20th United Nations Forests Forum, we will continue championing forests to secure our livelihoods and futures.
