Starting very soon, probably tomorrow afternoon somewhere in E Hants, W Sussex or Surrey, possibly Oxon or Kent, the 2025 Purple Emperor season - and they could be extremely good this year, & the males even more violent than usual. Don't miss out!

It's getting to the time when the young ones use the nest box in the pm & go exploring during the day. Won't be long until Peregrine Top Gun flight training starts..... 🛫✈️🛬 wokingperegrines.com

Sometimes I’m asked ‘why do you care?’ ‘Swifts are one of the oldest species on earth. They spend more time airborne than any other bird yet when they come home they come home to us. They’re on the brink. They just need a brick with a hole in it.’

Quick trip to TauntonMinster to see how the Peregrines are getting on. All four 2025 juveniles now flying. Here's one pestering an adult to fly off the weather vane. No sign the 2024 juvenile Peregrine so he might have moved on.

Thermal camera footage of Zino's Petrels displaying high in the mountains of Madeira. A truly unique birding experience to be surrounded by this rarest of seabirds as they called and wheeled around in the darkness at arms length. This guided @windbird tour is not one to be missed
