I also apologise. Ask them how they're feeling. When they're young and I'm washing/changing them I ask before I do so (early lessons in consent). I knock their doors before entering their rooms. I talk to them about my day and my feelings. ( 4 daughters over 22 years...🤣❤️☺️)

The way I could go on & on...you hear a lot about your inner child...but children are a lesson in self-nurture as well. I always try to think before I mother...what did younger me need when I felt like this. - I get it wrong sometimes, but being conscious makes a difference ☺️
