Gonzalo Parra Michael Eisen I think that metrics are actually the problem in & of themselves. It always becomes Campbell's law. Metrics become a proxy for faculty actually evaluating the work of candidates. It IS easier for screening, but the cost is immense (no metric selects for the best/good science).
