In the next 2 years, we plan to educate every Regional Hospital in Guatemala on Pharmacoinvasive Reperfusion System for STEMI. Puerto Barrios was our first experience, where we identified both barriers and strengths. They have built an amazing team! This is not a one-man fight!

A year ago, Sonia Moreno, MD, joined ACS-GT. Since then, she has recollected data of ACS, CRS, AAS, CHD (Including an international one, GHATI ACC) that powered multiple abstracts/papers and international posters (1/3)

5 abstracts were accepted. 2 new publications in JACC journals; 1 to be published after the ACC Latin America conference; and 1 in Journal of Pediatric Cardiology. 3 Poster presentations at international meetings (ACC 2025, soon PICS and Latin America ACC 2025) (2/3)

More projects are underway, with submissions under review at JACC Case Reports and Global Heart. These efforts strengthened our multidisciplinary cath-lab team and we’re excited, and committed, to advancing cardiovascular research in Guatemala. (3/3)

Great session in Guatemala on reperfusion as part of the Guatemalan Cardiology Congress. Dedicated faculty from across the region, stretching from Canada to Peru, shared their experiences and strategies to overcome barriers. This movement must become a nationwide effort!
