Doesn’t matter where you stand on the substance of PB — approving the city government to run a publicly funded campaign at the ballot box is a bad idea.

Over the weekend, we painted crosswalks near two elementary schools — Paul Dunbar & Clara Westropp — as part of two resident-led projects to promote safe streets & safe routes to school.

When we talk about an "all ages and abilities bike network" I'm thinking about my kids and what it would take for them to be safe. These thoughts crossed my mind during #WeekWithoutDriving as we commuted to school by bicycle.

Although our commute to my son's school looks vastly different than it would have 10 years ago, there is still so much work to do to keep families safe and to make trips to school by bike accessible and safe for everyone. -Jacob VanSickle

Parking is often a concern for new development, but we wanted to provide some concrete numbers for context. We conducted a parking study for a suburban commercial corridor in Cuyahoga County and found more than 75% of parking spots were empty at all times. x.com/ClevelandScene…

🧵We scoured publicly available data to determine the cumulative toll traffic crashes have on people walking and biking in the City of Cleveland. Data for 2023 indicates that an astonishing 550 people reported being hit by motor vehicles while biking or walking in our city.

1/2: A new poll of Cleveland residents conducted by the Baldwin Wallace University Community Research Institute found that 75% of residents support more public investment to improve safe access to bicycling, walking, and use of public transportation.

2/2: One of the key takeaways is that two-thirds of respondents want to ride a bicycle more often, and 62% of these residents would ride a bike for transportation if there was a separated bike lane to their destination. Read more at bikecleveland.org/bike-cle/news/…
