Kaval Deivam or Guardian Gods who protect the village from harm. You will find them all over in Tamil Nadu. Warrior-like, fierce looking, they secure villagers; and to those who mean harm, they are a warning. I find them fascinating… this one from the Kongu belt in Tamil Nadu.
