My day job is as a homemaker and homeschooling mom of four. I also moonlight writing about women and families, and advocate for stay-at-home parents.

When my SIL was having a hard time with her oldest, my mom suggested praying over him while she watched him sleep. Because prayer changes things and you can’t be mad at your sleeping baby. Fantastic advice which I have employed on numerous occasions. Highly recommend.

If you are nearby, the Pixar exhibit at the Connecticut Science Center is incredible. We’ve been here twice: could easily come a dozen more times. Even has plenty of buttons and flashing lights for our Littles.

The human relationship with dogs predates farming and written language. We’ve found humans buried with dogs dating back 14,000 years. I do not really think modern American anxieties fully shape that relationship.

I love this reflection by my friend Esther about the importance of inconvenient hosting, sharing meals, and looking forward to having coffee cake at the heavenly feast. Esther left us on June 1 this year; I wish you could have met her. plough.com/en/topics/comm…
