The Africa Centers of Excellence (ACE II) project at the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) will hold its 19th Technical and Advisory Meeting from June 11 to June 13, 2025, in Maputo, Mozambique. #ACEII #RegionalMeeting #Networking

The 19th Technical and Advisory Meeting of the Eastern and Southern Africa Centers of Excellence commenced in Maputo. Several dignitaries are present, including the Chief Guest, Hon. Minister of Education Samaria Tovela of Mozambique, who graced the opening ceremony.

Prof. Prof Gaspard Banyankimbona , the Executive Secretary of IUCEA, noted that the cumulative disbursement rate for the ACE II Additional Funding has risen from 41% to 73% as of June 2025, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our center leaders and teams.

Dr. Jude Ssebuwufu, the PC of the Africa Centers of Excellence at IUCEA , provided an insightful overview of the project's significant achievements at the 19th Technical and Advisory Committee meeting in Maputo. His update revealed that the project has reached an impressive 73% completion.

The 25th Regional Steering Committee Meeting (RSC) of the Africa Centers of Excellence (ACE II) project successfully concluded in Maputo. The agenda encouraged in-depth discussions about the project's progress and implementation strategies.

Prof. Prof Gaspard Banyankimbona, Executive Secretary of IUCEA, visited the National Council for Quality Assessment in Mozambique (CONSELHO NACIONAL DE AVALIAÇÃO DE QUALIDADE). During the visit, he met with Maria Luisa Lopes Chicote Agibo and her team for a productive discussion.

The workshop on mutual recognition of qualifications in East Africa has commenced in Entebbe, Uganda. The workshop has gathered participants from the East African Community (EAC) Partner States of Burundi, the DRC, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda.
