According to some adverts, music festivals are less about the bands you want to see and the music you want to hear, they're more about playing dress-up. Can I just say that by day two they'll look like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards. 🤣

40 years ago I had bought my ticket for Glastonbury (£16) and was counting down the days. I hitch-hiked down and mostly back. I spent 3 days in wet, muddy, misery eating nothing but chocolate and salted peanuts. I was 22 and it was a grand adventure. Eejit. 🤣 Not my pic.

I popped down to the Pointy Bridge at Water Row with a wide angle (19mm) lens. I took photographs from my usual spots to see how things had changed. This is what I found:

It's 23.5c inside my traditional, North-facing, Govan tenement right now. The sandstone will hold that heat for hours into the night. Just sayin' like. 😉

2:45am and I awoke in a literal puddle of sweat for the 3rd night running. Outside temp is now 16c so I've opened my windows for a through-draught to cool the house down. Thermostat is reading 25.5c. INSIDE. Hopefully in an hour or so it'll be bearable.

Random flashback: It's 1977 and you don't have the 20p required to pay for supplied ingredients in your Home Economics practical cooking class. Then you have to explain to the teacher in front of the class WHY you don't have 20p to pay for ingredients. #BestDaysofOurLives

Shout out to Past Glasgow - can you identify this building on the Partick side of the Clyde? Taken on this day in 2014 with a telephoto lens so it may appear closer than it actually is:

Just got a letter through telling me that all back court bins are being removed and replaced with a 'Bin Hub' in the street. 4-6 weeks is the estimated start date here in Govan. Apparently they'll be collecting general and food waste every 4 days.

Fucking YouTube ads. 'People often say to me' or, 'People often ask me'. No they don't you fuckwit. 'People' probably avoid you like the plague because they're tired of your bullshit you boring bastard. Sorry, I don't often rant but 4 ads in a 10min YT clip is doing my head in.

When England votes for the 'Boot Stamping on a Human Face Forever' Party, will they be shocked when the boot begins to stamp on their face? At least they can comfort themselves with the knowledge that it's not leopards who are doing the stamping...

As a rule I don't watch cop shows. I watched Hill Street Blues in the 80's but that was an exceptional series. I stumbled upon some clips from Mindhunter and after watching the first episode became hooked. I'm now on Ep 4 and can recommend.

Has anyone heard of William Cummins of Newcastle? I have a roast beef carving knife with a 13" blade and an antler handle. The blade is rounded at the tip. Also stamped on the blade are a C, 2 + - one above the other and an X. So C + X. No luck with Google so far.

"Political scandals are about either sex or money. Labour MPs were expected to be embroiled in scandals about money, because they didn’t have any. Tory scandals were about sex because it was assumed they weren’t getting any." East Anglia Byline Times.

Playstation 5? In the late 60's, early 70's these were your entertainment. Want a blister on your index finger? Buy a water pistol or spud gun. How high could you throw that paratrooper? Hopefully there was a roll of sellotape in the house if you bought a balsa wood glider. 😉
