I had an interesting thought today: We often sacrifice what we truly want for what we think will get us there. For example, many of us give up happiness now in the pursuit of success, believing that once we're successful enough, we'll finally allow ourselves to be happy.

Happiness is a choice, not a result. We often tie our happiness to specific outcomes. “𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻...” 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽. But happiness is a choice you make now, not a result of future events. Stop insisting on how things should be.
