Tom Ayers Tertiary care investments while primary care continues to be underfunded and undersupported. Will the health of the average Cape Bretoner be improved by a larger ER at the Regional? I don’t think so! People need good primary care with ease of access to improve health outcomes

SueW @MeMcCallan @FamPhysCan Canadian Medical Association Not really feeling the love in Nova Scotia SueW Lots of interest in NP’s and no requirement to collaborate with Fam Docs. Not sure my 10 yrs of training to become a comprehensive #famdoc is really valued - I can easily be replaced by an NP is the messaging Health & Wellness

The sun's out, the ice is melting and the Gypsum Mine trail was the best place to enjoy the afternoon. No more ice hockey and soon this place will be a popular swimming hole again with its aquamarine water. #CapeBreton #HikeCapeBreton #ExploreCB #Cheticamp #ExploreCanada

Excellent question. There are some major problems with functionality within the organization of NSHA, many of which contribute to our recruitment difficulties. New infrastructure may be flashy but it does nothing to solve those problems. Lipstick on a pig!

Some great programs happening in Metro and closely surrounding areas for primary health care. Curious why the access does not extend beyond central? NSHA Central NSHA Eastern Doctors Nova Scotia nshealth.ca/sites/nshealth…

Our family physicians are willing to care for these patients in their home towns, and the liberal govt ignores the issue! Solution is easy! And we wonder why the regional ED is blocked? Health & Wellness Nova Scotia Health Doctors Nova Scotia Nova Scotia Gov.

Joe Ward ▲ Nancy King Cape Breton Post And the inpatient beds are empty because Health & Wellness will not pay doctors to be on duty overnight - been doing it for free for decades. Other community hospitals in Nova Scotia Health pay their family doctors to cover the hospital overnight! Overworked docs in GB & NS not valued 😡

Two of our most steadfast, dedicated physicians here on the island. The story behind this movement will come out, despite the attempts by NSHA to cast blame inaccurately. capebretonpost.com/news/local/hus…

In medicine, the most senior clinician is not necessarily the most appropriate leader of the department. Leaders are gifted, nurtured and trained. Leadership by seniority default is not beneficial to anyone.
