A thread on the eliminationist anti-trans rhetoric of CPAC — including Michael Knowles calling for trans people to be “eradicated from public life entirely” — & why it’s a five-alarm fire.

Just want to call attention to a specific language choice: “how quickly to transition children.” The phrasing of “transitioning” as being an action done TO someone, as opposed to an action someone does with agency (“he transitioned,” “I am transitioning”), is intentional.

Maybe I'm just looking for someone to blame, but I feel seething rage bubbling up for the so-called allies whose ~just asking questions~ approaches helped launch this bs into the mainstream & gave the right wing baseless but easy quotations/citations. Y'all are complicit.

Sadly the alarm bells just keep ringing. The MO emergency rule is setting up a dangerous precedent, especially if it goes before a bench that believe that being trans is inherently fraudulent.

Today on Twitter I read that being trans has corporate sponsorships and now I just want my Corporate Transexual™️ paycheck.
