Interested in new molecular tools and tech for synthetic biology and drug delivery? If so, please check out the exciting work from Belardi lab graduate students, Ahmed, Isabela Ramirez Velez, and Unyime Effiong, in @BIOT at #ACSFall2023 this week!

🎉 smooth sailing during our PM session of the symposium. 10 Rapid-Fire sessions running in parallel showcasing the work of 50+ LatinX in ChE peers! An amazing 80% by trainees (undergrads, grads, postdocs) from over 10 Latinamerican countries. Just passed the 100 attendees mark!!

LatinX in ChE is finalizing programming for #AIChEAnnual and warmly welcomes its varied members to meet the rest of the family in Orlando! bit.ly/450rAlk #LatinX #chemicalengineering #ChE

Our paper on actin-binding protein switches is up on bioRxiv! Unyime Effiong spearheaded this impressive effort, and we are excited to share it! We developed a suite of switches called CASTs that bind to actin in response to an external stimulus biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/4

Honored to be part of this team and to receive this award! It’s been so rewarding to see our community grow since it’s founding in 2022. Excited for the future of LatinX in ChE! LatinX in ChE

I am thrilled to share my work in Nature Communications on the engineering of protein switches that control F-actin binding interactions in cells in a user-defined fashion with Brian Belardi. (indulge the supplementary movies to see these tools in acti(o)n)⚒️ nature.com/articles/s4146…
