Year 1 had a fantastic time celebrating French Day! They explored the region of Normandy to learn about its history and culture, were inspired by the paintings of George’s Seurat and created their own pointillism artwork. C’etait fantastique!

The children at Towngate Holiday Club have experienced their own Spa today with Yantra Mats, hand massage, foot spa and refreshing detox drinks 🍃🍋

What a fabulous trip day in Holiday club today. We’ve enjoyed watching Smurfs at the cinema, had a picnic, visited Wakefield Cathedral, had fun in the play area and finished off with an ice lolly before catching the bus back to Towngate.

Year 1/2 have been working really hard in their English lessons. Our new book ‘Our Class is a family’, is a really lovely story which talks about the values we’d like to have within our classrooms.

In Geography, year 2 have been looking at maps and directions. We spoke about what we see on our journey to school and then used this to draw a map. #Year2 #geography #TPA

This week, 1B have started learning about levers and sliders in DT. They shared some fantastic ideas about where they have seen sliders and levers used in everyday life, such as books and toys. Super work!

Year 1 have been enjoying their art topic this half term, which has focused on drawing. This week they looked at Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama and used a ‘tip heavy overhand grip’ to represent real objects.
