Interlay community-driven governance for the win! ✅

The Polkadot DeFi campaign is about to launch, driving demand for 22.5 more $iBTC. However, the Interlay | Bitcoin DeFi $BTC bridge doesn’t have capacity to mint more $iBTC. We propose Polkadot treasury support for vaults to add more $iBTC capacity.

Thanks to everyone for feedback on the @Interlay iBTC treasury proposal! 1) Option 1 ("Polkadot Treasury grants DOT to pay out as vault rewards") was the clear favorite.

After community feedback, I have submitted the official proposal to Polkadot governance to support adding 45 $iBTC of capacity to the Interlay | Bitcoin DeFi $BTC bridge to support the Polkadot #DeFi campaign.

Interlay Referendum 102 proposes to increase the vDOT and qDOT vault limits. The vDOT vault collateral ceiling will increase from 500k to 1.5M, and qDOT vault collateral ceiling from 1.4M to 2.5M. Vote here: interlay.subsquare.io/democracy/refe…
