Had an excellent talk with Lars Løkke Rasmussen today on variety of issues, including developments in the Arctic and the growing importance of security and defence. Iceland and Denmark have a strong bond and shared history, and I look forward to strengthening our ties even further.




Thank you for the meeting Maroš Šefčovič🇪🇺. Positive talks on 🇮🇸 & 🇪🇺’s strong relationship and opportunities for closer co-op, e.g. on foreign and security policy, health, & economic security. I also informed him of my government’s planned referendum on resumed EU accession talks.


A good, forward-looking meeting with 🇮🇸 Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir. We share the commitment to the EEA Agreement as the bedrock of our wide-ranging cooperation.


Met with Kaja Kallas in Brussels today where we had important talks on cont. support for 🇺🇦, the dire situation in the Middle East & transatlantic relations. We also discussed the EEA Agreement, our shared common security interests & 🇮🇸's place in Europe as we move forward.



A very good dialogue with 🇪🇸 MoD, Margarita Robles Ministerio Defensa. We discussed our cooperation in NATO, Spain’s upcoming air policing in Iceland, Europe’s decisive steps on security & defence, our firm solidarity w/ Ukraine & our common concern about the situation of Afghan women.


A good conversation with Maxime PREVOT in Brussels on important issues incl. developments regarding world trade, Arctic security & the horrific humanitarian situation in Gaza. I thanked him for 🇧🇪's participation in NATO air policing missions in 🇮🇸 this year.
