This is well done. Itโ€™s filmed in a way thatโ€™s given players the confidence to take their time and pronounce their name clearly. Take special note of Hopoate. Often the names youโ€™ve been hearing for generations are the hardest to correct, but this is how it is pronounced

Tuilagi not Tualagi . In Samoan (and Mฤori, Tongan, Fijian, Cook Islands Mฤori), the โ€œiโ€ is pronounced like the English ee as in bee

Watch this video of the Cook Islands Mฤori vowels. When pronouncing Iro. You need to pronounce the โ€œiโ€ as the English ee as in bee. Then roll the r. Then finish with the โ€˜oโ€™ sound which is more similar to the English word or. m.youtube.com/watch?v=HQB_QYโ€ฆ

If you were going to break Ofahengaue into syllables. It would be Ofa-he-nga-ue . There is no hard โ€˜gโ€™ sound. The ng is pronounced as it is in the English word singer.

A reminder, Itโ€™s Siosiua, the Tongan version of Joshua. The two word thing is a typo from many moons ago thatโ€™s stuck around for far too long. It would be like writing Da Nny
