In July we got a call about Prince. A husky left behind by owners here in Thailand. He had been scavenging for food and living in an abandoned villa. The heat was killing him slowly. Nobody could have predicted this unbelievable outcome for him…. (1/7) 🧵

He yelped in pain when trying to poop when we rescued him. That was when we discovered Prince had been eating sand and rocks as he was so hungry and had no food. His fluff makes him look healthier than he was. He was skin and bones (2/7)

We built Prince back up and even had him groomed. I think you’ll agree after 2 months he looked like a million dollars. Of course the next step was to find him a home. I wanted to find a cooler climate where he could live a happier life. (3/7)

This is where Prince really hit the jackpot. We initially struggled to find him a home. The cost is about $1500-2000 to test a dog / fly it abroad and do everything. That limits a lot of people. But we got a very special offer… (4/7)

An anonymous person asked if they could sponsor a dog’s adoption in full. The didn’t need a dog themselves but they wanted to fund a street dog going to a good home. No questions asked. Just someone wanting to do a good deed. That dog would be Prince. (5/7)

This was the moment today I was able to tell Prince that he was getting a forever home. It has taken us a while as we really wanted that nice cool climate he deserves. He has come so far. (6/7)

He was named after the music star Prince. But in a huge twist of irony he is now going to North Wales. So he will indeed be The Prince of Wales. The world is not all bad. Shout out to his wonderful annonymous hero who gave him a chance and his new owners 🙏🥰 (7/7)

Probably hard to believe but this is a street dog I rescued today. That’s actually his face. The turnaround we were able to give him within 4 hours filled my heart with joy. It wasn’t easy but he feels like a million dollars this evening… (1/8)

I’d spotted him yesterday on the other side of the island. I always know where to find them… the restaurants. They’ll never be far away from the food. The owner told me he arrived 2 years ago on New Years presumably because of fire works. He never left (2/8)

Things actually started really well. He was terrified coming with me but he was just about tolerating it here. We then hit a big matted bit that hurt him and he went beserk. He bit Valeria who was helping me and nearly bit me (3/8)

It was at this stage that our only clippers also broke. I’ve never heard a scream like it from poor Valeria. Luckily he still just about trusted me but we decided we needed help. We called the local vet to come and sedate him for us (4/8)

We only had a pair of scissors left each and 30 mins before he woke up. We agreed we would have to sacrifice any sort of style and focus instead on his quality of life. We weren’t going to be winning any awards (5/8)

We were still finishing as he was waking up. He seemed to have mellowed a lot and realized we might not be trying to kill him as he initially thought. (6/8)

He was very happy to be back to see his friends. The lady is a dog lover and she allows 5 dogs to stay at her little food shack. They are all very well fed and have a safe place to shelter. I was able to give her some expensive medicines to help the dogs (7/8)

He was struggling this morning but was whisked away and had a little sleep and came back looking like a million dollars in his new little bandana. I like to imagine him sleeping so comfy and cosy and clean and nice this evening 🥰🙏 (8/8)
