Good to meet in person again with members of Renfrewshire Economic Leaders Panel at Glasgow Airport today. A lot of good work and discussion around ongoing projects to maintain and improve Renfrewshire's employment sectors. Future planning on skills and opportunities.

Well done to Yuan Wong, a Castlehead High pupil who has won Renfrewshire’s Young Musician of the Year award, the first time these awards have run in our area. Josh Esson from Johnstone H.S. won second place. Yaun, who plays accordion, said: “I feel very happy about winning.”

Good to have a catch-up with the new leadership team at RenCouncil, @CllrNicolson and his deputy @aqualine34. Despite the difficult financial climate the council had an excellent track record in the last 5 years which was rewarded with an increase in vote share & councillors.

At Cosla convention in Edinburgh today we have the first ever @cosla SNP president elected. Congrats to Shona Morrison and our Cosla SNP spokespersons. A lot of work in front of Local Government and a new team in place.

Our new £500,000 Net Zero Business Fund can help small and medium companies in Renfrewshire reduce their carbon footprint. The fund offers 50% funding to firms, up to £10,000, to make carbon-reducing changes to their premises and operations. Read more: orlo.uk/Z8Ddn

Excellent day at the annual Sma'shot day in Paisley. Paisley is A good crowd and parade which just about kept ahead of the weather closing in. Grandchildren loved it. I had difficulty explaining it wasnt guy fawkes and what an effigy was...at that age.

Dissapointing not surprising Red Tories COSLA today pushed a 3.5% pay offer to employees and reject SNP proposal of 5% to get genuine negotiations going. A political stunt by LabTory bedfellows who really should get themselves down to a registrars office and stop the pretence.

A further meeting of COSLA leaders to move forward the issue of local government pay. Again Labour and Tories ganging up against the interest of our employees. I will just leave this here👇

Good visit to Kustom Kruisers in Renfrew and their cycle repair and reuse project. KustomKruizersCIC obtained a Glasgow Airport Flightpath Fund award to support the project. Pupils from Gleniffer HS also there learning cycle repair and maintenance. Glasgow Airport ✈️
