Indian middle class is in my view 5 per cent of total population. Around 15 per cent of urban population. Hope is that once this 5 per cent grows to 20 per cent and rest of the population is also less poor and more educated, overall things in India improve. May be very slow.

Since 1991 opening up, lets say 5% of country joined what wud be called global middle class or above. 5% in 34 years. If this trend continues, over next 75 yr have add 10-12% more to this. So 18-20% of population global middle class by 2100. Next century can be India's century
