I imagine myself as an entertainer and an informer, and there is tension between those things with the cancer. There are things I could be informing you about that are not entertaining…like the fact that I am angry and this sucks and is total bullshit.

Hello. I am not doing great. Besides ketamine infusions having been canceled again, I am also experiencing my first major depressive episode in years. Working with my doctor to add a new med to my routine that will helpfully kill both birds with one stone, but it's a process.

A lot of chronically ill folks you know online are much, much more ill than we let on. Even when we are fairly open about things. Even when we're positive or optimistic. Even when it seems like we are doing super well. Unless you live with us, you just won't see how ill we are

I had my first ever allergic reaction this weekend. To a medication I've been on before, no less.

Chronic illness would feel a lot easier if there wasn't a part of our souls that shouted at us about all the things we could have done if we'd been healthy. If that part wasn't there to keep reminding us about the things we've missed out on, it would hurt so much less.
