Great to open exhibitions of Irish art in Orasis Art Space in #Surabaya - art by emerging Irish artists, a retrospective on the Yeats sisters, and Indonesian batik art inspired by Irish mythology.

I was delighted to launch an exhibition of #batik paintings of Irish legends at the #Jakarta Library. These beautiful Indonesian depictions of legends that every child in Ireland knows are a wonderful fusion of our two cultures.

I was honoured to present a model of a currach to the Maritime Museum in Jakarta, to join its permanent exhibition of models of traditional Indonesian ships. Our two countries have strong maritime traditions.
