Very helpful paper in Int J of Nursing Practice (2019). It has a number of useful tables which can be used in presentations, etc. Mainly uses VIPS framework.

As part of our review of behaviours that challenge we're looking for best tools. Wecareadvisor (online prog) from Gitlin and Kales is going to be huge. Still in trial phase, but the feedback is great. Check their website.

Congratulations to Roberta & Daniel for adapting Newcastle dementia formulation for use on non-dementia wards in our Trust (FPOP Bulletin, 159, July 2022). This was particularly helpful over pandemic when all our wards cared for many people with additional cognitive difficulties.

Helicopter perspectives - day 2 of CAIT ā€˜train the trainers’ program for Pennine Trust. Today we take an overview of interventions in dementia care. Looking at what to do when prevention of agitation isn’t enough.

Big thanks to staff at Pennine Trust, grateful for sharing your passion and knowledge during CAIT train-trainers day. Significant improvement found on Elvish's Confidence in Dementia Scale & I liked the feedback that described CAIT as a 'compendium of best practice'. All best

What a week….. for the ward I manage to be shortlisted for two National Awards praising the work we do, couldn’t be prouder of our team, #RCPsych Awards and the National Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards, #cntw, #cntwahp

Well done to Laura & team. Laura, unusually for a ward manager, is an OT. However, as a co-developer of CAIT she has been using the training to enhance the service. Good luck for the RCPsych awards, as they've been shortlisted.

It was great working with experts from the UK and Portugal. This is part of a series on mental health in elite footballers. A new paper will come out shortly on the use of the Power Threat Meaning Framework. We have an animation too!
