Sit back and enjoy this smooth ISS pass between green and red auroras, and the stars of deep space. This video was taken by my crewmate Butch Wilmore on Expedition 72. His extended stay gave us lots of time to collaborate on photography!

"10 Minutes" Crossfield Alberta, 20250809T1004Z 10 minutes that's how long this substorm lasted. I waited over an hour for it to happen... the wait was worth it I think. I had to move the camera twice due to the speed of the aurora travelling East, it seemed to move a the same

Bottrel Alberta, 20250809T0555Z Not often does one see an aurora this bright at mid latitudes, it was so bright that it completely overpowered the 100% full Moon. The substorm kicked up it's heels at around 0530 UTC, and by 0553 it had gone overhead. This dazzling display of

INCREDIBLE views of last night's meteor/fireball over Japan! ✨ The night sky lit up with a brilliant flash, captured by cameras across the country. A breathtaking sight! #Japan #Meteor #Fireball #Space

A stunning eruption of filament plasma from the Sun this morning! This size of event can cause strong aurora activity if directed towards Earth, but alas – this one was not. #spaceweather

A gorgeous prominence eruption that took place this morning. This animation shows the benefit of EUV imagers with larger fields of view. SUVI on GOES was designed and built by the team I belong to.

BOOMSHAKALAKA! The back to back filament eruptions that occurred on the Sun today are incredible! Both from the eastern limb, indicating some sort of state change, or at least temporary instability in localized electromagnetic field of the Sun, causing them to launch outwards!

The absolutely spectacular eruptive prominence this morning will likely be one of the top events of Solar Cycle 25. What a blast! Unfortunately it will miss us completely.
