Ladder 4 is officially in service and now proudly housed at the West 6th Street Station. This 100' steel aerial ladder is the first of the ARPA-funded fleet upgrades rolling out through 2024-25, enhancing our City's fire response capabilities.

🚨 The Lowell Fire Department has officially put the new Ladder 1 into service this afternoon at the Lawrence St firehouse! Funded through ARPA, this state-of-the-art vehicle enhances the department's readiness and resources to keep our community safe.

Yesterday, City crews from Water, Wastewater, DPW & Fire completed annual Stop Log Dam & Port-a-Dam training at Beaver St. Bridge. This hands-on exercise, required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, prepares staff to protect the community in case of flooding.

DFS #Hazmat techs recently took part in an exercise to simulate the Massachusetts response to an emergency at Seabrook nuclear power plant. With MEMA, RedCrossMA, & other partners, they drilled on Reception Center operations that would assist 1st responders and the public.
