Today the City of Port Moody awarded Port Moody resisent, Local 18 Vancouver Firefighter Massimo Cerentola with the medal of Merit, and Fire Chiefs Commendation for his courageous actions during a car fire in Moody Centre. A well deserved honor for our brother from Local 18

Honoured to see Lt. Massimo Cerantola recognized with a Commendation and Medal of Merit at the Port Moody fire hall. He risked his life to ensure the safety of his neighbours and is a true local hero.

This year Port Moody Fire Rescue hosted its first ever Junior Firefighter Program. It was a great 4 days with 6 incredible students from SD43. Their excitement, enthusiasm and work ethic was tremendous.

Happy Mother's Day to those on the job and those supporting their loved ones. The sacrifice of our members extends to their families, and for that, we thank you.

A massive thank you to everyone that attended our Pancake Breakfast on the weekend. It's great getting to engage with the community. And due to everyone's incredible generosity, we were able to raise over $70,000 for local charity. #portmoody

Our Type 5 Wildland Engine left this morning with 3 members to provide structure defense support in the Kamloops area. Our thoughts are with the affected community and all the agencies working so hard at this fire and around the province. Stay safe everyone!

This morning at 440 am PMFR crews responded to a townhome structure fire in the Heritage Woods area. Crews rescued 3 occupants from balconies on arrival. Multiple pets were rescued as well. Great job by PMFR crews and an off duty Surrey Firefighter.

This morning our members observed a moment of silence. To remember all those that lost their lives on 9/11.

Recently, two members of our Local retired. Both served on our local executive. Brother Suzukovich was a long time President and Jim served as our Secretary. Today our members enjoy the benefits of their hard work. All the best in a well deserved retirement brothers.
