Wealth is everywhere in the United States. You see it daily and itās constantly surrounding us. Wealthy people use their money to get themselves out of trouble and is evident in our education system. Wealth inequality is a huge issue in the US and must be resolved. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

In every lecture, my eyes have opened up and I have become much more aware of the issues that surround me daily. Whether it be racism or sexism, I have used my knowledge and the lessons I have learned in this course already to try and make a difference in my community. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

The #NationalSchoolWalkout was a very important and special day in America. This day showed the world that we are all in this together to stop school violence and take a stand against gun violence. This was a powerful day in US history and hopefully will spark change. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

I think many people are aware of Chinaās potential. I am aware of Chinaās potential, but wasnāt so aware of what they do with that potential. This lecture has opened my eyes to the progression of China and made me wonder why weāre so far behind. America needs to take action. x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

After reading this article and seeing that quote, I have a better understanding of its meaning. We canāt, we wonāt and we arenāt going to evolve if this conversation of race doesnāt progress or doesnāt occur. We need to speak about these issues that are so prevalent. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

The marches, the walk out and the speaking out are the first steps in responding to this violence. All of the students who are aiming for change in this country are gaining worldwide attention, which will ultimately lead to change. This is how we should be responding to violence. x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

This lecture interested me so much for so many reasons. I am extremely lucky to have the financial support of my parents, but hearing these other students talk and explain their lives and what they have to deal with daily, was eye-opening and gave me a whole new perspective. x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

Daydreaming is unavoidable, especially as college students. Our minds go somewhere else without us even realizing it. I donāt believe we daydream because we are uninterested and itās bad that sometimes this occurs in class, but daydreaming just happens and gives us an escape. x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

Itās so sad that our world revolves around money. Everything costs and is related to money. Society has correlated wealth with happiness and that has divided our country. We are judging people based on social status and attracting ourselves to those of similar wealth. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

I never truly understood affirmative action until I heard Sam explain it in class. When Sam said that there are specific programs for black people and not for white people in the same position as them I was mad because since race is involved, there has to be a difference. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

I donāt have a talent and I really wish I did! Everyone always says āOf course you have a talent,ā but I really donāt. I love watching Americaās Got Talent because the contestants are extremely gifted and so were the boys who flipped in class! Oh well, maybe next life! #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

I don't believe these are the things we should be focusing on when it comes to THON. Yes, THON does have it's flaws, but what organization doesn't? Surely, THON could make many changes, but what's most important about THON are the kids and raising money to find a cure! #soc119 x.com/Soc119/status/ā¦

Every day we are hearing about the negatives of the world and all the violence going on via the news, but we have to take a look around us and remember that not everyone is evil and not everyone is out to get you. Surround yourself with the most positive and loving people!#soc119 x.com/Soc119/status/ā¦

When Sam asked the questions to the class about owning guns, using guns or knowing someone who has killed themselves using a gun, I was in complete and utter disbelief. I could not believe how many people around me stood up in response to those questions. STOP USING GUNS!#soc119 x.com/Soc119/status/ā¦

It is true that many times people take the sides of their country, but that doesnāt necessarily mean it is always right. SOC119 has taught me the importance of looking at things from a different perspective and putting yourself in the shoes of others. Patriotism canāt always win. x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

This class truly changed my life and I seriously mean that. I never thought that I would shed a tear in any of my classes here at Penn State, but this class actually moved me to tears. Watching Basim have the courage to speak about his family was an incredible experience. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

As a Jewish woman, this class was very important to me. I have been learning about The Holocaust since I was a little girl and I never really thought about The Holocaust in the way Sam explained. I do think though many Christians in class took the class the wrong way. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

Basim is such a special man and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to hear his story. After listening to Basim, I have learned that being angry isnāt going to help you in any way. In fact, being angry is only going to hurt you. Itās better to forgive and let go. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

This particular class with Basim was not just an experiment. This class was a life-changing, eye-opening experience that had me crying and feeling. I have never met anyone like Basim before, who has been through so much and felt so much pain, but is willing to forgive. #soc119 x.com/soc119/status/ā¦

Basimās story has stuck with me over the past week and will continue to do so over the course of my life. The most important part of his story was hearing how he handled everything that happened to him. He could have been very angry and hate Americans, but he chose to forgive. x.com/soc119/status/ā¦
