Now public: My bill with Rep. Jarvis Caldwell, Byron H Pelton, and Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer repeals hidden tax hikes on overtime & small businesses, and makes clear that any changes like this must go to the voters as the Taxpayer Bill of Rights intended. The left does not believe in or know what accountability is. Who’s had the majority in Colorado for the last several years? Y’all even had a super majority in the house at one point…

Byron H Pelton (@commish_pelton) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Do you really think the people of Colorado don’t want TAX CUTS? Coloradans certainly don’t want taxes raised on them without their permission, going around the Taxpayers Bill of Rights so Democrats can have a blank check without accountability is NOT the Colorado way. #coleg

Free State Colorado: Yara is one of the worst legislators in the House... she has no regard for the rights and liberties of Coloradans. She’s happy of her fiscal duties of continuously spending as Coloradans fork the bill.

Rather than taking responsibility for their choices, @govofco & Colorado Dems his allies want to raise taxes again, only this time they’re aiming squarely at the people who can least afford it. And it’s wrong! #coleg #copolitics denverpost.com/2025/08/18/col…

Let’s Make Colorado Affordable Again! My priorities: ✅Protect Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) ✅ Cut government regs & red tape ✅ Boost tax benefits for health insurance ✅ Expand educational choice for parents & students #copolitics #coleg

Weld GOP is still hitting the streets this month, and we want YOU with us! Parades are a great way to show Republican strength, wave flags, hand out candy, and connect with our neighbors. This Saturday, we have two parades: Severance Days Parade – Saturday, August 23rd 📍

Colorado democrats' answer to a budget shortfall? Raid someone else's piggy bank. Whose piggy bank? Yours. Predictable #copolitics

As Colorado's special session kicks off today, let’s remember- Our state's budget is squarely the responsibility of the Colorado Legislature. Governor Polis could have easily issued an Executive Order to stop spending, but didn’t and called us into Session for Grandstanding.

1st day of Special @COLeg Session -aka Polis' Spending Session- was a mess & going to get more heated. Spent 8+ hours debating in HHS. We do NOT have a revenue crisis, we have a spending & priorities crisis. Your Colorado House Republicans & Colorado Senate Republicans want to trim the fat, not your wallet!

Huge congrats to Joe Gruters, the new Chairman of the GOP! You’be been a fantastic leader of Florida GOP (and Sarasota YR in the day) and will be an even better RNC Chairman. Michael Whatley, you were one of the best our party has ever had. Let’s get you in the Senate!

Absolutely agree with Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer—food security is vital, but let's ditch the deflection and face facts head-on. Colorado's budget woes predate HR1, and they're worsening because we prioritize "nice-to-haves" over essentials. Time to refocus on core needs: K-12 education,

I commend Senator Barbara Kirkmeyer intent to introduce facts during Colorado’s special legislative session. Regrettably, facts appear to be kryptonite to Colorado Democrats.

I hope the Colorado General Assembly realizes that rushing an “AI fix” in the special session could make a bad law even worse. They need to the take time to get it right: clear, workable rules on a realistic timeline that protects consumers without crushing innovation.
