Red-footed Falcon from RSPB Ham Wall this afternoon. The bird was mostly circling w/ 4+ Hobby and c.50 Swift but perched just long enough to get a photo. Other highlight from today was a possible Red-rumped Swallow over St. Thomas's Head nr W-s-M. bto_somerset1 BristolBirding

Not many better ways to spend a Spring afternoon than listening to Wood Warblers. 5 in a short walk in the Quantocks this afternoon, where an okay population still persists Matt Hull17

Woodpeckers really are thriving in eastern Europe. Here is a short video of a Middle Spotted Woodpecker being engaged by a Lesser Spot, presumable to defend a nest site. There was also a Wryneck singing within a few just a few meters of this location! #Bialowieza

Small selection of some of the many warbler species I encountered in Poland. These included Barred, Grasshopper, River, Savi's, Marsh, Great Reed, Icterine & Wood Warbler, with the highlight being the now increasingly rare and endangered Aquatic Warbler. #Bialowieza

Extraordinary encounter with a pair of White-tailed Eagles being attacked by an Osprey near the Bialowieza Forest in Poland last week. Garganey, Little Stint, Wood Sandpiper, Caspian Gull, White-winged Tern, Black Tern & Black Stork also seen in the same area.

Spent some time around Biebrza National Park during my recent trip to Poland. Montagu's Harrier, Great Grey Shrike, Blue-headed & Citrine Wagtail were all lifers but Whiskered Tern & Bluethroat also showed well. Picked up Ortolan Bunting on way there, which was another lifer!

Was a great joy to watch a pair of Red-necked Grebes courting on a pond near the Biebrza National Park. I have only seen this species in the U.K. on one occasion and that was in winter plumage, so to see them in breeding plumage was very rewarding.

Superb close fly-by of a Honey Buzzard at a well-known site in Hampshire last week. A species that has had mixed fortunes in different parts of the U.K., with only one pair left in the whole of Wales! Nice to also get decent views of Hobby in the same area.
