On 2 out of 3 bike commutes so far this week I’ve been nearly mowed down by an #ebike rider. Each time the #ebike rider passed within inches going 10+ mph faster than me. I am not a pedal-bike snob, but shouldn’t #ebike riders develop their own code of conduct and stick to it?

And I even passed out in your closet, but I never, and I don't know who could have if I didn't, but I never, and I repeat never, ever pissed in your steam iron. Jan-Michael Vincent #bigwednesday

“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”

Increasing bike ridership and building safe places to ride, including high-quality bike lanes, are the most powerful methods to improve safety for people on bikes. Mandatory adult bike helmet laws are not. nacto.org/2019/11/08/hel…

0.5% of Dutch cyclists don helmets. Yet theirs are among the safest streets on earth. Why? They realize it’s more effective to slow cars, build protected infrastructure, and create a culture of everyday cycling. Not force the most vulnerable to armour up. vox.com/science-and-he…

There were over 9K more NYC passenger car registrations in 2017 than in 2016. Number goes up every single year. If we want parking for everyone we're going to have to start knocking down buildings. Raise your hand if you want yours to come down first. nypost.com/2019/11/09/nyc…

After going 47 years without holding a single hearing on bicycle safety, NTSB did not exactly cover itself in glory last week when it finally did. NACTO: "NACTO strongly urges NTSB to remove the recommendation that states adopt mandatory helmet laws..." nacto.org/2019/11/08/hel…

.Bike Snob NYC I support a science-based approach to transportation safety. Have you (or your readers) ever seen science that backs up the claim that if we really wanted to save lives we’d require automobile drivers and passengers to wear helmets?
