7th graders participated in a modified cybersandwich. S's were broken up into groups of 3 and were given the task of being the reader, scribe, and question master when reading about the geography of Ancient Egypt. Love the conversations going on during this! #Eduprotocols #sschat

Making sure my son appreciates World from A to Z Carl Azuz

Freshman World History class did a Hero or Zero presentation at the end of the semester. Let them pick any historical person of their choosing. The class then would decide hero or zero. Easy to say the discussions for why for some were interesting at best! #sschat

8th grade is currently learning about the different branches of the government. For the Legislative Branch we discussed how a bill becomes a law. The class was divided into a house and senate and made a bill. Afterwards we had a little story time.

Nothing better on a Friday than a little classroom competition. Students played Lawcraft on iCivics and who ever has the highest score on Monday gets a prize! Love this game and how it helps the kids understand how a bill becomes a law. #sschat

7th graders just finished an inquiry project with the question being "Are all world religions the same?" We finished it off with a spiderweb discussion where we practiced our civil discourse skills. #sschat

Class might have been chaotic, but Ss in world history learned how alliances were like prior to WW1 and how tangled up they were and how it led to the start of the war. Needless to say this was one of their favorite activities this year #sschat

Forever grateful that I went to Laura McFarren and Amy Walker session at National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) conference in Nashville and showing me Masterpiece Matchup. My students love doing it and I love seeing the excitement in the room when they are reading and creating their pictures! #SSchat

Last Thursday I was asked to attend a proclamation signing with Governor Governor Jim Pillen sponsored by Civic Nebraska to recognize March 10-14 as Civics Learning Week. Can’t wait to kick off the week off tomorrow!! #SSchat

Juniors today had a spider web debate about whether or not we should have used the atomic bomb or not. For such a normally quiet group I loved the conversations they were having and points being made. Today are the days that make me remember why I chose this profession! #sschat
