Today we celebrated high school graduates that started their academic lives @westgatepwcs What a a great motivator for our students!

It is assumed esol students have a wealth of knowledge about diverse cultures. About 60% of my students were born in the U.S. and know very little about cultures outside of their Hispanic-American community. So penpals living halfway around the world are a game changer!

My edugator joined us for a weekend getaway to Blackwater Falls in West Virginia.

Maybe it’s because my 8th grade history teacher said my name incorrectly every single day or maybe it’s because so many of my peers decided to go by Americanized nicknames BUT this is a huge pet peeve of mine.

My coworker made this screensaver to represent the languages of all her students. What an amazing way to make her MLs feel welcome in her classroom.
