In chess, the Queen is the most powerful pawn on the board. This goes for the same for the Queen of Portsmouth, L. Louise Lucas. She will be going against her long-time colleague Lionell Spruill, Sr., who is loved by the citizens of Chesapeake, in VA’s 18th District.

The 100th District will definitely be a blood bath. Incumbent Del. Rob Bloxom will be competing against newly elected Del. Tim Anderson. Norfolk has been removed from the district but this district has gained more coverage in VB.

Hermie Sadler is a former NASCAR driver but will he be able to race his way to the finish line before the well-loved Del. @BrewerForVa? The new State Senate District 17 stretches from Chesapeake to Emporia. Both candidates may need to invest in a race car. 🏁

Two Norfolk City Councilwomen are gunning for the newly formed 21st State Senate District. Current Councilwoman @AndriaMcClellan versus freshman Delegate Senator Angelia Williams Graves. Let’s just hope either of them can help with flooding and violence in the city.

Hampton Roads Elections 2023 Tim Anderson If Rob Bloxom loses his primary and Lynwood Lewis loses the general election (Lewis is bound to lose now), the ESVA will not have representation in state or federal politics from one of our own. This hasn’t happened since the General Assembly was created.

Looks like the newly formed 94th District is a tossup. Delegate Phil Hernandez is the only Democrat running so far but the Republicans have 3 nominees: Ken O’Brien for VA’s 94th House of Delegates, Andy Pittman, and Amy Chudzinski. We didn’t realize there are actually Republicans in Norfolk.

It turns out former Governor Terry McAuliffe has filed paperwork to run in the VA Senate Race in 2024.

Opinion: If Elaine Luria plays her cards right, she could make a great Democratic candidate for the VA Senate race in 2024.
