Technique is important, but innovation and sincerity are more essential to being a writer, musician, or artist. I know so many who have phenomenal technique and skill, but have yet to find their own voice. I delight in rough edges.

I admire his technological achievements, but this is disgusting. It's buying votes as far as I'm concerned. Imagine what that money could do for a school or people living in poverty, but instead it's being used as a carrot to fulfil political ambition. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Well, I watched Clerks 3... Another movie that completely undoes the previous film. I think the premise of Randal making a movie is a great one, but other than that, I found it utterly depressing and unnecessarily so.

Thoroughly enjoyed Heretic. I especially loved the opening 45 minutes where the film explored religion through menacing performances and tight, insightful dialogue. If you are looking for a suspenseful thriller with horror elements, I highly recommend it.

If you want to push people into more extremism, a sure way is to say they can't live in their homeland any more and that you're turning it into a fucking resort. Which episode of the Twilight Zone is this? Can I change the channel? #Gaza bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

A big thank you to Lighthouse Horror for narrating the entire Bedtime series. I still can't believe that 13 years later those stories are going strong. Please do check out the video and subscribe to their channel. youtube.com/watch?v=DcEejP…

It's challenging coming back to regular podcasting and fiction for the first time in years. I stepped back because my family needed me. I had to let my dreams go. Now, my life has balance. It's time to come back and relaunch everything. It's exciting. It's scary. But I feel hope.

I finally completed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. One of my favourite gaming experiences for a long time. It can sit proudly alongside the original trilogy as a brilliantly written and executed Indy adventure. I hope everyone involved gets together to make another!

I'm turning into Clark Griswold. 'This is great!' My eldest sighs. 'Dad, I'm bored. Can we do something fun?' My youngest nods. 'Yeah, something fun!' I smile. 'This is fun!' 'Dad you've been peddling the boat for 20 minutes, we're going in circles and we're taking on water.'

I'm starting up a monthly Call of Cthulu game night, and I couldn't be happier about it. If you have any adventure suggestions, please do let me know!

I love Stephen King, but making fun of the Epstein list and just dismissing it as fiction, when it could contain information about kids being abused, is a very bad take. I have no idea if the list actually exists or not, but we should at least do everything we can to find out.

Went into the Glenlee Tall Ship today. I could have definitely written a few terror tales of the high seas in the captain's quarters.

I hope no one ever forgets what the government of Israel is doing to civilians in Gaza. We are going fucking backwards as a species. Hamas has done horrendous things, and we should never forget that either, but nothing can justify this. It's heartbreaking. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

I really hope YouTube does something about AI voiced videos, especially when they include readings of my and other horror writers' works. It's pretty depressing seeing these videos being promoted over actual talented voice actors.

I saw Fantastic Four last night and was pleasantly surprised by it. It's fun and even moving in places, and they really capture the connection between the four. The retro future designs are excellent and Galactus was imposing. Silver Surfer was great, too. Definitely a good time.
