Most land on the planet is under some kind of human management. We cannot afford letting landscapes to become biodiversity deserts anywhere. How can we restore biodiversity and ecosystem services in agricultural land? Can we use rewilding principles? Yes we can. 3/#

By combining local set-asides for rewilding with ecologically intensified farming. We can restore dispersal, trophic complexity and stochastic disturbances in the set-aside land, but also in the agricultural matrix, within boundaries of what is possible on managed landscapes. 4/#

This moves the debate of landscape management beyond land-sharing / land-sparing to consider the opportunities of cross-scale landscape management. And gets us moving towards Target 1 of the UN Biodiversity GBF: #fullearth. 5/5
