Why though? Wouldn't that cost them more in processing and storage? Or is it to get us used to the AI look?

Just spent £14 on postage to send my Doctor Who laserdisc to and from someone who could digitise it, but turns out they can't do PAL laserdiscs :/ They did digitise a different NTSC laserdisc I have so not all a waste but still
